Creation Care Garden
The Episcopal Diocese of Virginia is very involved in a project known as Creation Care. It supports many aspects of caring for God’s creation, this beautiful world he has given us.
At Christ Church Parish, what began as a diaconal ministry idea, quickly became a parish-wide ministry with the start of a Creation Care Garden. We grow fresh vegetables for the local food bank. We also grow flowers to share with our sisters and brothers in need in the community so they may have some of God’s beauty in their homes. Those flowers are also used in our church services.
It has been a very successful project with the help of a master gardener and other parishioners. Scripture plaques and benches have been added so it is a beautiful spot for contemplation as well as a garden.
