No Morning Services. One combined service at 3:00 PM. Susan Goff, Bishop Suffragan and Ecclesiastical Authority, will be with us to preach, confirm, reaffirm vows, and receive into the Episcopal Church new communicants. Service with organ and choir music. The Reverend Stuart Wood, Celebrant will be inducted as Rector of Christ Church Parish at this service.
The will be a Reception in the Parish Hall following the service honoring the Bishop, Fr. Stuart, and those being confirmed, received and reaffirming their vows.
Confirmation – is a chance to “express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.”
Reception into the Episcopal Church – is for individuals who were confirmed in another tradition (Roman Catholic, Orthodox, and many Lutheran churches by a bishop) and desire to make a public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their baptism in the presence of an Episcopal bishop and be received into the Episcopal Church.
Reaffirmation -- is for individuals who have been confirmed or received and who wish to reaffirm those promises and receive the laying on of hands with prayers for strength to continue in the service of Christ in his kingdom.
Institution/Induction – When a priest is being instituted and inducted as the rector of a parish.
