Christ Church Oyster Festival Booth - Home of the HOB

The Urbanna Oyster Festival is held each year in November on Friday and Saturday beginning the first Friday in November.  The entire Christ Church community turnsout to support this event.  The booth is the project of the Men's Brotherhood, but they couldn't begin to operate this booth without the support of everyone in the Parish including the ECW (Episcopal Church Women) who in addition to manning the booth also have a fantastic Bake Sale and put together more than 1800 ham biscuits.

Boy Scout Troop 341 is also active preparing and breading the raw oyster to be fryed.  Students from Christchurch School pitchin to help keep the serving counter supplied with and serving up everything from fried oysters, clam strips, clam chowder and ham biscuit to our famous HOB (Ham and Oyster Biscuit).

The booth operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and everyone has a wonderful time.  We even have several individuals that travel from Richmond, Northern Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia just to help with the booth and we couldn't do it without them.
